Privacy Policy

Niyyara is built on a simple belief: your worship is between you and Allah, and your data should be private too. This policy explains, plainly, how Niyyara handles your information. The short version: almost everything stays on your device, we do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.
What stays on your device
The following never leave your phone and are stored only in the app's local storage:
- Your name and preferences (calculation method, madhab, language, reciter, translation).
- Your worship tracking — prayers, Quran reading, dhikr, fasting, streaks and journal entries.
- Your bookmarks, notes and last-read position in the Quran.
- Your location, which is used on the device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. Your precise location is not sent to our servers.
Content we fetch
To show you the Quran, translations, audio recitation, and Hadith, the app downloads that content from trusted open sources (such as the AlQuran Cloud API, the Islamic Network audio CDN, and open Hadith collections). These requests include only what is needed to fetch the content and are subject to those providers' policies. When you look for nearby mosques, an anonymous query is sent to the OpenStreetMap service using your approximate area; no identifying information is attached.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not show third-party advertisements.
- We do not require an account to use prayer times, the Quran, Qibla, or worship tracking.
- We do not use advertising trackers or sell location data to data brokers.
Permissions
Location is used only to calculate prayer times and the Qibla, on your device. Notifications are used only to remind you of prayer times and the adhan, if you enable them. You can revoke either at any time in your device settings.
Children
Niyyara is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
